Colitis blood in stool may be caused by physiological factors such as improper diet, or it may be caused by pathological factors such as more severe colitis and cancerous colitis.
1. Physiological factors: overeating, eating spicy and stimulating, cold and greasy food, such as spicy hot pot, deep-fried skewers, ice cream, alcohol, marinated meat, pickles, etc., can further stimulate the edematous and congested mucosa of the colon, resulting in blood in stool, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Colitis is more serious: colitis is a disease of inflammatory changes such as congestion and edema of the colonic mucosa that occurs under the action of bacterial infection, immunity, genetics and other factors. When the inflammation of colon is more serious, the mucous membrane of colon can appear erosion, bleeding and other changes, thus causing blood in stool and other symptoms.
(2) Colon cancer: when patients with colitis have blood in stool, they need to be alert to the occurrence of colon cancer. Tumor tissue breakage can cause intestinal bleeding, unexplained weight loss, anemia and other manifestations.
Once patients with colitis find blood in stool, it is recommended to consult doctor in time, make clear diagnosis under doctor’s guidance and carry out targeted treatment.
