Vascular endothelial growth factor is a tumor marker that is useful for tumor screening. Vascular endothelial growth factor is a highly specific pro-vascular endothelial cell growth factor that promotes increased vascular permeability, vascular endothelial cell migration, proliferation and angiogenesis. VEGF is involved in the pathogenesis of many angiogenesis-dependent diseases and their progression, and has a very important role in suggesting tumorigenesis, among others. VEGF shows high expression levels at early stages of a tumor lesion, whereas most of the other factors associated with tumor production are elevated in mid to late stages of the tumor. It can also screen almost all solid tumors and some non-solid tumors, covering more types of tumors, and its broad spectrum cannot be replaced by general tests. As one of the most important promoters of tumor angiogenesis, vascular endothelial growth factor has been more and more widely used in tumor prevention and detection, diagnosis and treatment, and early screening can improve the survival rate and prolong the survival time of tumor patients.
