The yellow water coming out of the nipple is considered to be caused by nipple overflow. Nipple discharge is usually caused by inflammation in the milk ducts, mastopexy or tumors in the milk ducts, and you can have a lactoscopy or mammography to see what is going on inside. Lactoscopy can be done because it can visualize the internal condition of the milk ducts. If it is caused by simple inflammation, for ductoscopy, metronidazole can be used to flush the inside of the milk ducts for healing purposes. Ultrasound of the breast can be done to see if there is mastopexy on the outside of the milk ducts. If there is breast hyperplasia, Chinese herbal medicine will be given for symptomatic treatment to achieve a cure; suspected tumors inside the milk ducts will require surgery.
