How long does it take to recover from a knee injury depends on the location and degree of injury. Minor soft tissue injuries can be recovered in a week; meniscus injuries take 4 to 8 weeks; ligament injuries take 8 to 12 weeks; and fractures take about three to six months.
1. Minor soft tissue injury: If the knee injury is only a minor local soft tissue injury, there is no obvious structural damage, the recovery is usually faster, usually about a week that can be recovered.
2. Meniscus injury: mild meniscus injury usually recovery time is about 4 to 6 weeks; serious meniscus tear usually need to undergo surgical treatment, recovery time is usually about 6 to 8 weeks.
3. Ligament injury: the recovery time for ligament injury is relatively long, patients with mild injuries need to be immobilized for 4 to 6 weeks and then undergo rehabilitation training; patients with torn ligaments need to undergo surgical repair or reconstruction. Ligament injuries usually take 8 to 12 weeks to recover.
4. Fractures: Knee injuries can lead to fractures of the knee joint. Whether it is a relatively minor crack fracture or a more common transverse fracture, it usually takes about three months to reach a state of complete healing; however, if a comminuted fracture occurs, it usually takes six months or even longer to recover.
Patients with knee injuries are advised to undergo early and standardized treatment to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
