Small mediastinal lymph nodes may be caused by lymphadenitis, lymphatic tuberculosis, nodal disease, lymphatic tumors and other reasons.
1. Lymphadenitis: Bacteria, viruses and other pathogens infect the mediastinal lymph nodes, causing lymphadenitis, resulting in patients with enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes, which may have systemic symptoms such as fever and fatigue.
2. Lymphatic tuberculosis: caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, there will also be enlargement of mediastinal lymph nodes, which will lead to the discovery of small mediastinal lymph nodes, and the patients often have fever, night sweats, emaciation and other symptoms.
3. Nodular disease: it is a kind of granulomatous disease with unknown etiology and involves multiple systems, which mainly invades the lungs and lymphatic system and causes lymph node enlargement, resulting in small lymph nodes in the mediastinum.
4. Lymphatic tumor: including primary tumor of lymph nodes and lymph node metastasis of other malignant tumors such as lung cancer and esophageal cancer, all of which will cause enlargement of lymph nodes, resulting in the appearance of small mediastinal lymph nodes.
If patients have small mediastinal lymph nodes, it is recommended to seek medical treatment in time and carry out standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors.
