Cough, especially dry cough, may be due to novel coronavirus pneumonia. Based on current epidemiological investigations, the main clinical manifestations of novel coronavirus pneumonia are fever, malaise, dry cough, and in a few patients, nasal congestion, runny nose, and diarrhea. If a patient presents with cough symptoms along with fever, signs of pneumonia visible on chest imaging, and a history of travel or residence in the Wuhan area 14 days prior to the onset, it may be novel coronavirus pneumonia. Patients need to wear a mask, keep a distance of more than one meter from family members, and visit the fever clinic of the nearest designated treatment hospital.
