How can demyelination be completely normalized

Demyelination is generally not completely curable, but can be treated with medication or surgery to relieve symptoms and achieve clinical cure. Demyelination is not a disease, it is a group of diseases that originate from the loss of nerve myelin of unknown etiology. The central nervous system has a limited ability to regenerate myelin, so it cannot be restored to full normal again. Treatment should be directed at the disease to control the condition, such as optic neuromyelitis optica, multiple sclerosis, adrenoleukodystrophy and so on. 1. Optic neuromyelitis optica: Glucocorticoid drugs such as prednisolone can be used to control the condition during acute exacerbation, and plasma exchange or intravenous immunoglobulin can be used if the effect of hormone drugs is not obvious. After the disease is stabilized, it can be treated with medicines such as morphine macrolide, rituximab, azathioprine, cyclophosphamide and so on. 2. Multiple sclerosis: glucocorticoid drugs are used to control the development of the disease during the acute exacerbation period, and interferon, teriflunomide, cinimod, orfatoximab, azathioprine and other medications are needed to treat the disease after it is stabilized. 3. Adrenoleukodystrophy: hormone replacement therapy can be used when adrenocortical insufficiency occurs, such as estrogen, androgens, adrenocorticotropic hormone and so on. Many patients will have demyelination when they undergo cranial CT examination after the symptoms disappear, which should be judged according to the clinical symptoms and other examinations, and actively treated.
