Fiberoptic bronchoscopy focuses on diseases of the airways, including lesions of the trachea, bronchi, segmental bronchi, and fine bronchi, as well as endobronchial and extrabronchial lesions. Biopsy can be done in some patients, and sputum specimens can also be taken and bronchoalveolar lavage can be performed. Lung puncture is a percutaneous CT-guided procedure to reach the diseased lung tissue and give a puncture biopsy. The above two procedures target airway lesions and lung parenchyma lesions, respectively, and can complement each other’s deficiencies. Lung puncture is mainly used to diagnose peripheral lung lesions, including tumors and some small nodules, and diffuse lung diseases.
