What are the symptoms of locally advanced nasopharyngeal cancer?

Symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer in locally advanced stage include snotting blood, nose bleeding, nasal congestion, etc. Other symptoms include ear symptoms, eye symptoms, symptoms of cerebral nerve damage, lymph node metastasis, etc. 1. Nasal symptoms: in mild cases, there is blood in snot, i.e. blood in sputum when inhaling nose; in severe cases, there is nosebleed, and nasal congestion can be caused by tumor obstruction. 2. Ear symptoms: when the tumor is in the position of pharyngeal crypt, it will compress the inner mouth of Eustachian tube, which will cause secretory otitis media, such as tinnitus and hearing loss. 3. Eye symptoms: when nasopharyngeal cancer invades the eye socket or the nerves related to the eyeball, it will manifest as visual impairment, visual field defect, diplopia, eyeball protrusion and activity limitation. 4. Symptoms of cerebral nerve damage: when the tumor enters into the skull through rupture hole and invades the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth pairs of cerebral nerves, it will cause persistent headache or trigeminal neuralgia, and the patient will suffer from numbness of face, diplopia, blurring of vision, eyelid ptosis, paralysis of abductor muscle of the eyes and blindness. 5. Cervical lymph node metastasis: the lymph nodes in the neck are enlarged, painless, hard, movable in the early stage, and fixed by adhesion with the surrounding tissues in the late stage. When the above manifestations occur, patients should consult the doctor as soon as possible and standardize the treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
