Eight points to control diabetes

  Drink less alcohol
Patients with diabetes who like to drink alcohol can drink small amounts of alcohol, such as 100 to 150 ml of red wine daily, but do not drink strong alcohol. Since drinking alcohol on an empty stomach can lead to hypoglycemia in patients taking prohormones or using insulin, alcohol should be consumed with food.
  Eat less oil and salt
Diabetic patients should choose light food with less oil and salt. You should not think that eating only half-vegetarian and half-vegetarian dishes fried in veggie oil will not affect your blood sugar. Use less oil when frying. Cooking should be more steamed, boiled, cold, shabu-shabu, roasted, stewed, brined and other ways. When you go to a banquet, you should choose your meal and the amount of food you eat according to the amount and food mix you usually eat at home.
  Eating regularly
Eat at least three meals a day, and regularly and quantitatively. The interval between meals should be 4 to 5 hours.
  Extra meals without extra quantity
Patients who inject insulin or are prone to hypoglycemia should have two to three additional meals between three regular meals, i.e., to share part of the food from three regular meals for additional meals. This is an effective measure to prevent hypoglycemia.
Some people mistakenly think that extra meals are extra meals outside the limit, thus increasing the amount of meals, resulting in higher blood sugar.
Meat and melon should not be eaten more
Some people think that only staple food has sugar, and meat is protein, so eating more meat will not cause blood sugar to rise. In fact, meat into the body can provide fat, but also can be transformed into sugar. There are also people who take peanuts, melon seeds and other snacks as additional meals, and these snacks contain a lot of fat, which is even less desirable.
Pastry without sugar also eat less
The so-called sugar-free pastry means there is no sucrose, but pastry is food, in which the starch and carbohydrates are polysaccharides, the same will produce heat, so you can not eat more.
You can’t rely on medicine to make up for too much rice
Some people think that if you eat too much rice, you should take more medicine so that your blood sugar will not rise. However, more medicine will not only not receive the desired effect, but the side effects will increase with it.
  Eat fruits with low energy
When the blood sugar drops to normal level and stabilizes for a period of time, diabetic patients are allowed to consume fruits. Generally, you can choose to eat 3 to 4 pairs of fruits with low glycemic index a day.
Fruits with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams are recommended, such as cucumber, watermelon, orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, plum, apricot, loquat, pineapple, strawberry, cherry, etc. These fruits can provide 20 to 40 kcal of energy per 100 grams.
Be careful to eat fruits containing 11 to 20 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit, such as bananas, pomegranates, melons, oranges, apples, pears, lychees, mangoes, and so on. Such fruits can provide 50 to 90 kcal of energy per 100 grams.
It is not advisable to eat fruits containing more than 20 grams of sugar per 100 grams of fruit, such as red dates (especially dried dates), red fruit, honey dates, persimmon cake, raisins, dried apricots, cinnamon and so on. These fruits provide more than 100 kcal of energy per 100 grams.
Fruits with particularly high sugar content include red Fuji apples, persimmons, Laiyang pears, fatty peaches, hami melon, rose-scented grapes, winter dates and yellow peaches, which should not be consumed by diabetics and should not be eaten with dried fruit.
