How to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease

Good personal hygiene and protection are the main measures to prevent HFMD. 1. Personal precautions: Since children are the main cause of HFMD, parents should first help their children to do a good job of personal protection, such as cultivating the habit of washing hands correctly before and after meals, not taking children to crowded public places during the epidemic period, cleaning and sterilizing tableware used by children, and ensuring that the air in the living room is fresh and clean. 2. Preventive measures for kindergartens, schools and other collective units: During HFMD epidemics, the premises of relevant collective units should be well ventilated. In addition, toys and personal hygiene products used by children should be sterilized daily. When a suspected child is found, he/she should be sent to the doctor, stay at home, take proper isolation measures, and immediately disinfect the items used by the child. The damage caused by HFMD, an acute infectious disease, to children’s health should not be ignored. Therefore, parents, as well as relevant childcare institutions or elementary school, should pay attention to the prevention of this disease. In case of suspected cases of HFMD, seek prompt medical attention.
