The method of boiling angelica is to take the appropriate amount and add water until it touches the surface of the medicine, soak it for 20~30 minutes, then put it on the fire to be decocted, and then change the fire to be decocted for about 20 minutes after the water boils to be taken.
Angelica sinensis is sweet, pungent and warm in nature. It belongs to liver, heart and spleen meridians. This product has the effect of tonifying and activating blood, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, moistening the intestines and relaxing the bowels. It is used for blood deficiency, dizziness, palpitations, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, cold abdominal pain, rheumatic paralysis, bruises, carbuncle (a kind of poisonous sores, occurring on the surface of the body, limbs, internal organs of the acute suppurative disease), sores, intestinal dryness and constipation.
This product is contraindicated for people with dampness (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and loose stools.
It is not usually used alone in clinical practice, but is often used in combination with other drugs, such as with Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong for blood deficiency and atrophy, palpitations and insomnia; and with Boswelliae Serrata and Momordica Oleracea for bruises and other injuries.
If there is a need for medication, one should go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis and use the medication after identification by a Chinese medicine practitioner, rather than using the medication blindly on one’s own, in order to avoid adverse effects on the body.
