Acetaminophen dosage should be used according to the child’s weight, age, and specific formulation.
Acetaminophen drops dosage is 1 to 1.5 mL for 1 to 3 years, 10 to 15 kg; 1.5 to 2 mL for 4 to 6 years, 16 to 21 kg; 2 to 3 mL for 7 to 9 years, 22 to 27 kg; and 3 to 3.5 mL for 10 to 12 years, 28 to 32 kg.
It needs to be taken if the body temperature is over 38.5℃. If fever or pain persists, the medication may be repeated at 4- to 6-hour intervals, not more than 4 times in 24 hours.
Acetaminophen can be used for fever caused by the common cold or influenza, and is also used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, joint pain, migraine, toothache, muscle pain, neuralgia, and menstrual cramps.
Precautions: Acetaminophen allergy is prohibited, severe hepatic and renal insufficiency, etc. Use with caution.
Adverse reactions: Acetaminophen drugs can cause allergy, dermatitis, anemia, general weakness, loss of appetite, anorexia and other symptoms.
If any discomfort occurs, stop the medication and go to the hospital. All of the above medications should be used under the supervision of a doctor.
