Er Chen Wan plus Han Xia Laxing Xin Tang can treat symptoms such as chest and ribs (a collective term for the chest and rib area) or stomach and abdominal distension and discomfort caused by phlegm-dampness congestion in the middle Jiao and interlocking cold and heat.
1. Er Chen Wan is a concentrated pill preparation composed of Er Chen Tang medicines, which mainly adopts Pinellia and Poria to dry dampness and resolve phlegm (expelling dampness by drying dampness and dissolving phlegm), while Ginger and Pericarpium Citriodora regulate qi and harmonize the stomach. It is used to relieve cough with excessive phlegm and phlegm, nausea and vomiting, chest and epigastric distention and fullness and other discomforts due to stagnation of phlegm and dampness. The adverse effects and contraindications of this drug are not clear.
2. Hemixia Diarrhoea Heart Tang is a representative formula of the conciliatory agents to regulate heat and cold. It not only uses Scutellaria baicalensis and Rhizoma Coptidis to diarrhoeze the heat in the upper middle Jiao, but also uses Ginger to warm the middle Jiao and disperse the cold (to disperse the cold by warming the Spleen and Stomach), and it can improve the symptoms such as plumpness under the Heart (mainly referring to the distension of the Stomach and the discomfort of the stomach), vomiting, and intestinal sounding diarrhoea that may occur when the heat and cold are intertwined with each other in the Spleen and Stomach.
When the combination of the two medicines is needed for treatment, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s instructions after identification by a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, and should not be applied on one’s own in order to avoid causing damage to the organism.
