Chances of getting lung cancer from a 2mm nodule

A 2mm nodule is usually defined as having a diameter of 2mm. 2mm nodules have less than a 10% chance of developing lung cancer. A nodule that is 2mm in diameter has about a 90% chance of being benign. Most nodules that are less than 3cm in diameter are usually benign. Such as infection with bacteria such as Klebsiella, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other bacteria leading to bacterial inflammation caused by benign lesions. Benign lesions are usually cured with antibiotics, expectorants, and other types of medications such as levofloxacin, roxithromycin, and aminoglutethimide hydrochloride under a doctor’s supervision. A 2mm nodule has about a 10% chance of developing malignant tumors smaller than 3mm such as misshapen tumors and teratomas. The chances of having lung cancer are relatively less, so there is less than a 10% chance of getting lung cancer from a 2mm nodule. There is only less than 10% chance of 2mm nodule getting lung cancer. It is suggested that patients can do detailed examination under the guidance of doctors to determine the extent of the disease and choose the suitable treatment, in addition, the use of drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions, do not self-medication.
