Wisdom teeth are the eighth tooth that erupts after the age of 16 or has not yet erupted. Since the jaw bone has become smaller in size during the evolutionary process, there is often not enough jaw bone space for wisdom teeth to erupt, resulting in abnormal position and orientation of wisdom teeth after eruption. Wisdom teeth not only have no chewing function, but also have a series of hazards or potential hazards, so it is the best policy to remove them as soon as possible.
As a result of incomplete eruption, the gum on its back side covers part of its crown to form a pericoronal pocket, which accumulates food and bacteria, causing frequent inflammation of local soft tissues and pain, and even leading to restricted opening and difficulty in eating. Some people are reluctant to remove the inflammation, no pain, can eat, the result is again inflammation and the symptoms become more serious.
Most of the wisdom teeth are tilted forward and obstructed, that is, they are tilted at an angle of about 45 degrees on the second molar, and the two crowns form an angle and embed food, and after a long time, the second molar forms caries until pulpitis and severe pain.
Another consequence is that the anteriorly inclined wisdom teeth continue to exert force on the second molar, causing periodontitis and painful loosening, and the second molar has to be extracted, or the two teeth have to be extracted, and the chewing function is seriously damaged.
Although the eruption direction of some wisdom teeth is generally normal, the contact point with the second molar is not normal, so as to embed food, and it is not easy to brush the gap between teeth when brushing, and it is very easy to cause the second molar caries and shorten its service life.
Nowadays, many people think that as long as the tooth does not hurt, there is no need to treat or extract it, but this view is incorrect. Because if it hurts, it shows that it has already caused irreversible damage to the normal teeth and even the organism, at this time it is difficult to pull out again to recover the loss caused by wisdom teeth.
According to statistics, 50% of people have wisdom teeth, which erupt one after another around the age of 16. Since the roots of this tooth are not yet fully formed when it first erupts, it is easy to remove it, and it is the best treatment plan to remove it as early as possible to avoid causing damage to the second molar and the body. This is the reason why the ancient people say: do not treat the disease to cure the disease.
Many people are aware of the danger of wisdom teeth and the reason why they must be removed, but they are reluctant to consult the doctor for this tooth because they are afraid of pain. In fact, as long as local anesthesia is used, the tooth extraction is almost painless, which is the experience of many tooth extractors.
IV. Precautions after tooth extraction
1. The gauze bitten inside the mouth must be gently spit out after 1 hour.
2. Do not rinse your mouth and brush your teeth for one day after tooth extraction to avoid touching the wound and causing bleeding.
3. Do not use anything (such as finger, toothpick, etc.) to pick at the wound at the extraction site to avoid bleeding from the wound.
4.Please spit less after tooth extraction, if the spit contains a small amount of blood, there is no need to panic, if there is too much blood or blood clot, you can come to the hospital for treatment to stop the bleeding at any time.
5. It is a good phenomenon if a purple-gray blood clot is found to be formed on the wound.
6. If you feel that the wound is good and there is no uncomfortable feeling the day after tooth extraction, you can not come to the hospital for follow-up; if you have uncomfortable feeling, you must come to the hospital for follow-up.
7. Two hours after tooth extraction, you can eat, and it is appropriate to eat thin rice, soft drink or liquid food, which should not be too hot.
8. If stitches are placed, you can come five days later to register for stitch removal.
After tooth extraction, there will be a lot of saliva, but don’t spit out the saliva, you must swallow it. Because spitting will make the wound bleed and slow down the wound healing.
Do not use hot water for the first two or three days, at most warm water, because hot water will promote the blood circulation of the wound, which is very detrimental to the wound healing and the formation of bone tissue. Cool water, on the other hand, slows down the blood flow to the wound area, allowing for better healing.
You can talk after the surgery, but still talk less. Eat mainly liquid food, pay attention to the balance of nutrition, do not eat when you need to chew, of course, if only one tooth that the situation is much better. Pay attention to oral hygiene, you must rinse your mouth with mouthwash after meals. Brush your teeth often, and never eat hard things, or you will find a doctor for the second time.
Seven days to remove the stitches, even after the removal of the stitches should be noted, half a month later can be returned almost, full recovery (i.e., the formation of all the bone tissue) should take two to three months of time.
Follow the doctor’s advice, take medication and infusion on time. Because the mouth is an unclean environment, so be sure to pay attention to oral hygiene.
