Basketball is not recommended for IgA nephropathy. IgA nephropathy is a primary glomerular disease characterized by the deposition of IgA or IgA in the glomerular mesangial region. The pathogenesis is mostly due to immunologic injury. It usually occurs after infectious diseases of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, intestinal tract, urinary tract and other mucous membranes trigger disorders of the body’s immune system. IgA nephropathy is significantly manifested as hematuria, even when asymptomatic, there will be microscopic hematuria or proteinuria, suggesting that the kidneys are damaged. Therefore, when playing basketball, the blood circulation in the body is accelerated and the hemodynamics of the kidneys are changed, which increases the burden on the kidneys and intensifies the damage, and aggravates the degree of hematuria and proteinuria, which is not conducive to the recovery of the patient’s condition. In addition, due to the large amount of sweat when playing basketball, physical exertion is too large, easy to lead to upper respiratory tract infection, which is unfavorable to the patient’s condition. Patients with IgA nephropathy are recommended to do some soothing activities for exercise, such as walking, jogging, tai chi and so on. Daily diet should be light, low salt and low fat to promote the recovery of the disease. Patients with IgA Nephropathy are advised to seek medical advice in time, and actively treat and recover under doctor’s guidance.
