How long does it take to recover after a femoral head replacement

It takes about 3-4 months to recover from femoral head replacement. In the early postoperative period before the drainage tube is removed, muscle function exercises of both lower limbs can be considered to prevent the formation of deep vein thrombosis and to properly practice muscle function to prevent muscle atrophy. After the drainage tube is removed, patients are advised to sit up appropriately and prevent postural hypotension after sitting up. After adaptation, consider walking with a walker on the ground. Be sure to have a family member with you during the walking process, and do not damage the joint during the walking process to avoid dislocation of the joint. After walking with a walker and adapting to the mobility of the joint, you can gradually change from a walker to a cane to prevent excessive dependence on the walker and to increase hip mobility exercises. Even after recovery, avoid doing deep squatting and cross-legged movements. Because part of the joint capsule has been removed after surgery, the joint is unstable and can easily lead to joint dislocation. If the joint is dislocated, it can be reset by manipulation, and if it cannot be reset, surgery has to be considered.
