Can hemophagocytic syndrome be completely cured?

It is possible to fully cure hemophagocytic syndrome, but the overall cure rate is low and the disease is aggressive.
Hemophagocytic syndromes are a group of fast-progressing, highly malignant hematologic disorders that can be divided into primary hemophagocytic syndromes and secondary hemophagocytic syndromes.
1. Primary hemophagocytic syndrome is caused by genetic abnormality and has a very low cure rate and high mortality rate.
2. Secondary hemophagocytic syndrome, as the name suggests, is caused by secondary diseases. Common secondary diseases include EBV infection, malignant lymphoma, and severe infections. Secondary hemophagocytic syndromes are also expected to be curable if the secondary factors can be removed. For example, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is treated with chemotherapy with drugs such as cyclophosphamide.
Specific hemophagocytic syndrome treatment drugs include etoposide, cyclophosphamide, and dexamethasone.
The overall malignancy of hemophagocytic syndrome is high, progresses rapidly, and has a high mortality rate, and requires aggressive treatment under the guidance of a physician.
