If general anesthesia is used for circumcision, hospitalization for observation is an option; if local anesthesia is used, hospitalization is not required.
Whether circumcision requires hospitalization depends mainly on the type of anesthesia used for the surgery. If general anesthesia is used for the surgery, intraoperative monitoring and postoperative care are required, and the patient’s body recovers slowly, generally requiring hospitalization; if local anesthesia is used for the surgery, the patient’s body recovers faster, and the patient only needs to be observed for an hour or so after the surgery, and generally does not need to be hospitalized.
Patients should rest in bed for 1~2 days after the operation, review once a week, avoid eating spicy and stimulating food during the recovery period, quit smoking and drinking.
If patients need to do penile surgery, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment.
