How to read the MRI report

The MRI report is generally divided into two parts: description and conclusion. When reading the MRI report, patients are advised to watch the conclusion part directly. The presence of abnormalities will be inferred to some extent, pointing out exactly which disease may be present, such as a lamellar abnormal signal visible in the left basal ganglia region, which is considered to be an acute cerebral infarction, or a local abnormal signal visible in the right occipital lobe, where the possibility of an occupying lesion is high and a tumor cannot be excluded, and further enhancement scans are recommended. Detailed descriptive language is usually found at the top of the report, which will specify whether the abnormal signal is observed in T1 phase, T2 phase, diffuse phase or FLAIR phase, and the specific size and location of the abnormal signal.
