Stage IV ovarian cancer is advanced stage.
Clinically, ovarian cancer is divided into four different stages according to TNM staging criteria, among which stage IV ovarian cancer refers to advanced ovarian cancer. Patients with stage IV ovarian cancer have tumor size over 7cm, accompanied by lymph node metastasis and single or multiple distal organ metastasis, such as chest, lung, liver, etc., which are often unsuitable for surgery and have a lower cure rate.
For ovarian cancer, palliative surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and other comprehensive program treatments are mainly adopted to help improve the quality of patients’ personal survival and prolong the survival cycle.
Patients are still advised to keep a good mindset and take active treatment in order to improve survival treatment and prolong the survival period.
