In the past, capsule endoscopy was mainly used for small intestine examinations, so the price was higher, usually in the thousands of dollars. The examination of small intestine like jejunum and ileum is mainly done by capsule endoscopy. The capsule endoscopy is like a pill, and the capsule is swallowed with water during the examination without any discomfort or anesthesia, and the whole procedure usually takes ten minutes. After passing through the stomach, the capsule continues to look at the small intestine, and some capsule endoscopes are more fully charged and can continue to look at the colon. The doctor looks at the condition of the gastrointestinal mucosa based on the tens of thousands of pictures in the recorder. After the examination is done the capsule is excreted with the stool. Some capsule endoscopes now have manipulability, known as magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy, which requires a doctor in the hospital to regulate and control the movement and direction of the capsule in the stomach, allowing careful observation of the mucous membrane in various parts of the stomach. The cost of a proper capsule endoscopy is in the thousands of dollars, so be cautious about using capsule endoscopes that are claimed to be several hundred dollars. When choosing to do a capsule gastroscopy it is recommended to choose a more formal large hospital, not some small hospital without a business license because of the difference in money. The lesions may be missed because of the lack of careful observation of the images in the stomach and intestines and the lack of lifetime experience.
