What is the formula for Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan?

Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan is made by adding Zhi Mu and Huang Bai to Liu Wei Di Huang Wan. The formula consists of Zhi Mu, Huang Bai, Cornus officinalis, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Poria cocos, and Rhizoma Zedoary. Zhi Mu and Huang Bai enhance the efficacy of clearing heat and fire, while Liu Wei Di Huang Wan is used to nourish kidney yin. The whole formula can be used to treat conditions related to yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactivity of fire in the deficiency), and insufficiency of kidney yin. The adverse effects of this formula are not clear; it is contraindicated in cases of allergy to the ingredients and in cases of yang deficiency, and should be used with caution in pregnancy and childbirth. When taking the medicine, attention should be paid to reduce nourishing and greasy food, and do not drink tea or alcoholic beverages.
