How soon after Achilles Tendon Rupture Surgery to Exercise in an Achilles Tendon Boot

Generally, you can exercise in an Achilles boot about a month after Achilles tendon surgery.
The Achilles tendon heals slowly after rupture, and it usually takes 28 days before you can perform functional ankle exercises, and about three months before you can make a basic recovery. Cast immobilization is required for 3~4 weeks after Achilles tendon surgery to ensure relative stability of the Achilles tendon area during this period and to promote recovery.
After 3~4 weeks, when the Achilles tendon has formed a localized fibrous connection with a certain degree of stability, it is possible to remove the cast and use the Achilles tendon boot instead, and carry out rehabilitation exercises at the right time in order to promote the condition to recover more quickly.
Due to the different conditions, physical fitness and recovery of patients, there are individual differences in when to wear Achilles tendon shoes for exercise. It is recommended that patients under the guidance of a professional doctor for treatment, do not blindly self-exercise to avoid adverse consequences.
