How long can you live with emphysema at age 30?

The survival time of patients with emphysema at the age of 30 is mainly related to whether the patient undergoes active treatment and care, and cannot be generalized. When emphysema appears at the age of 30, patients are younger at this time, and if they are actively cared for and carefully maintained under the guidance of a respiratory physician, such as smoking patients who quit smoking in a timely manner, engage in appropriate exercise to enhance physical fitness and improve cardiopulmonary function; at the same time, pay attention to keeping warm in daily life, avoid colds and reduce the chance of lung infections. In general, most patients do not affect their life expectancy and can continue to live for 40-50 years or more, no different from normal people, so there is no need to worry too much. If patients do not take this disease seriously and still continue to smoke for a long time, they can develop recurrent lung infections. If patients are not treated promptly during the acute exacerbation of emphysema, it can shorten their life span, and some patients can lead to respiratory failure, which can be life-threatening at any time. Patients with emphysema are advised to avoid being in an environment with smoke, dust or chemical gases to avoid aggravating the disease.
