Precautions before gastroscopy: 1. Patients should fast for 6-8 hours before gastroscopy; 2. Don’t be too nervous during the procedure and cooperate with the operator’s guidelines; 3. Patients doing painless gastroscopy should be accompanied by family members; 4. Patients with a history of heart disease and hypertension should inform the medical staff and make relevant assessments before the procedure; 5. Patients over 60 years old should have an electrocardiogram. Precautions after gastroscopy: 1. Patients who undergo painless gastroscopy should eat only after they are awake without nausea and vomiting; 2. Patients who undergo painless gastroscopy should not drive, work at height or drink alcohol on the same day; 3. Patients should not eat water within one hour after general gastroscopy, and can eat warm liquid or soft food after two hours.
