Infants with cerebral palsy can laugh. Infants with cerebral palsy may have a false smile caused by the disease itself, or they may have a conscious smile because the symptoms of cerebral palsy are not severe.
Infants may exhibit pseudobulbar palsy appearing as pseudobulbar palsy due to damage to the vertebral bundles bilaterally, and the symptoms of upper motor neuron palsy are manifested as strong smiling and crying. This type of behavior is pathological, not subject to external interference, and is a constant state.
When the symptoms of cerebral palsy are not severe, the baby is responsive to external stimuli, so when touched, he/she will smile and respond. Children with cerebral palsy are given rehabilitation exercises as early as possible in order to better restore their neurological functions.
