Shaoyang is the name of the meridian that treats diseases of the head, face and five senses, fever and so on. Specifically, there are two meridians, the hand Shaoyang Sanjiao meridian and the foot Shaoyang bile meridian. The Shaoyang Sanjiao meridian starts at the end of the ring finger and spreads to the pericardium. The Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian begins at the lateral canthus of the eye and ends at the lateral side of the fourth toe.
1. Hand Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian: It starts from the end of the ring finger, passes through the dorsal side of the wrist, goes up to the lateral side of the forearm, passes over the tip of the elbow and travels to the shoulder, distributes in the middle of the chest, and disperses in the pericardium. The main acupoints located in the San Jiao meridian are Guan Chong, Liquid Gate, Zhongzhu, Yangchi, Waiguan, Zhigou, Xiaoshen, Cataract, Jiao Sun, Ear Gate, and Silk Bamboo.
It can mainly treat abdominal distension, edema, dysuria, tinnitus and deafness, sore throat, redness and swelling of the eyes, and pain on the outer side of the shoulder and elbow.
2. Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian: It starts from the outer canthus of the eye, goes up into the frontal horn, goes down to the back of the ear, goes into the axilla along the shoulder, goes down to the inguinal artery along the ribs, goes down to the front of the ankle along the outside of the thigh, goes along the back of the foot, and goes into the outside of the 4th toe.
The main acupoints located in the Gallbladder meridian are Pupil’s Eye, Hearing, Shang Guan, Rate Valley, Tianchong, Fubai, Wuan Bao, Ben Shen, Yang Bai, Tou Lin Wei, Feng Chi, Shoulder Well, Belt Pulse, Huan Jump, Feng Shi, Yang Ling Quan, Hang Zhong, Qiu Hui, and Chivalry Creek. It can mainly treat diseases such as bitter mouth, dizziness, malaria, headache and foot pain.
