How to treat earwax

Earwax needs to be removed in the hospital. Cerumen is a foreign body in the external ear canal caused by abnormal secretion of the cerumen gland in the cartilaginous part of the external ear canal, which is a special form of earwax. It is a special form of earwax. When examined, it is visible as a dark brown mass-like substance with a hard texture filling the external ear canal. It should never be removed at home by yourself because the external ear canal is deeper and narrower. If the operation is not done carefully, cerumen can damage the external ear canal and cause inflammation of the external ear canal, and in serious cases, it can lead to an abscess in the external ear canal and also cause perforation of the patient’s eardrum and acute suppurative otitis media. If cerumen is found, the patient can use sesame oil or sodium bicarbonate for local immersion, 3 times/day, and soften the cerumen after about 5 days, then the cerumen needs to be removed at the hospital, and the hospital can use an attractor or a cerumen hook to remove it directly to heal. The patient also needs to be reviewed regularly after the surgery, and if cerumen is found to be removed regularly, it must not be left behind.
