What causes rhinitis in Chinese medicine

Rhinitis belongs to the category of congested nose in Chinese medicine, and Chinese medicine believes that its onset is mainly related to deficiencies of the lungs, spleen and kidneys (insufficiency of lung qi, spleen qi and kidney qi), and invasion of external evils (invasion of wind, cold, dampness and other evils into the human body), which can be recognized and treated with medication. The disease is clinically common with intranasal itching, watery nasal discharge, nasal mucus, pale nasal mucosa, nasal congestion and irritating sneezing, and often occurs seasonally or throughout the year.
1. Lung qi deficiency is not solid (Wei qi can not protect the surface of the body), the coupling (pores) loose, easy to invade the body, visible nasal itching, nasal mucus such as water, sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, sweating aggravated by a little movement), etc., can be used to warm the lungs to stop the flow of Dan treatment. It is not suitable for those with yin deficiency (deficiency of yin fluid).
2. Spleen is the master of transportation (spleen has the function of digesting food, absorbing food essence and water and transferring it to the whole body), if the spleen and stomach are dysfunctional and the clear yang does not rise (the light and clear yang qi cannot rise), then there is less food and less dullness (lack of appetite, less food), abdominal distension and loose stools (the stools are thin and not shaped), etc., can be treated with tonifying the middle and benefiting the qi pill. Children, pregnant women and lactating women should take it under the guidance of a physician.
3. Kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the kidneys) is easy to feel external evils, which can be seen in lumbar and knee soreness (soreness and discomfort in the lumbar and knee joints), nasal mucus like clear water, and fear of cold limbs (fear of coldness and cold limbs), etc., and can be treated with Kidney qi pills or Zhenwu Tang. Caution should be exercised in cases of yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin fluid leading to hyperactivity of fire-heat and evil qi in the body).
