The latest eight dietary recommendations for diabetics!

  Diabetes has now become a major public health problem that seriously affects the health of our residents both physically and mentally. The data from the two national nutrition surveys conducted by the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2002 and 2012 show that the prevalence of diabetes among residents aged 18 or older in China in 2012 was significantly higher than in 2002, and the prevalence of diabetes is on the rise as the age of the population increases.  How should diet therapy, one of the five carriages of diabetes treatment, be carried out in the long term?  The Dietary Guidelines for Diabetes in China (2017) was officially released at the 13th National Conference on Nutritional Sciences and Global Conference of Chinese Nutrition Scientists of the Chinese Nutrition Society on May 22. It recommends eight nutritional health advice for diabetic patients, such as “eat, move in balance, and use medication reasonably”, which effectively spreads the concept of scientific diet and helps diabetic patients better control their blood sugar.  The guide makes up for the shortcomings of the previous diabetic nutrition treatment materials, such as the difficulty of understanding and scattered knowledge, mainly for type 2 diabetes patients, is a general dietary guidance content, mainly for diabetic patients and general readers concerned about health, but also for health care workers, nutrition (medical) professionals and other professionals to provide reference for diabetes management.  Important Recommendations Recommendation 1: Eat and move in balance, use medication reasonably, control blood glucose, and achieve or maintain a healthy weight; Recommendation 2: Ration staple foods, coarse and fine, whole grains and mixed legumes account for 1/3; Recommendation 3: Eat more vegetables and fruits in moderation, with a variety of types and colors; Recommendation 4: Eat fish and poultry often, eggs and meat in moderation, and limit processed meat; Recommendation 5: Dairy and legumes every day, and snacks and meals reasonably chosen; Recommendation Six: light diet, adequate amount of water, limit alcohol consumption; recommendation seven: regular rationing, chew and swallow slowly; pay attention to the order of meals; recommendation eight: pay attention to self-management, regularly receive individualized nutrition guidance.
