Does bowel cancer hurt all the time or occasionally

The pain caused by bowel cancer is usually occasional and rarely all the time, i.e. intermittent abdominal pain. Some patients with small size of bowel cancer may have no pain, while others may have mild nature of pain, such as vague pain, swelling, etc., with pain appearing for a period of time and pain relieving or disappearing for a period of time. After the size of the patient’s bowel cancer increases significantly, the nature of pain will increase accordingly. In addition, when the patient’s bowel cancer has obstruction, it will also manifest as paroxysmal pain in the abdomen, which is usually a burst of pain as well. When the patient has pain in the abdomen, colonoscopy should be done for further examination to clarify the diagnosis, and surgery is usually recommended.
