Glycated hemoglobin of 12.9% needs to improve the relevant examination, lifestyle adjustment and treatment of hypoglycemic drugs.
1. Improve the related examination: Glycated hemoglobin reflects the average level in the past 2~3 months, the degree of elevation of blood glucose and the degree of elevation of glycated hemoglobin may not be completely consistent, and blood glucose is dynamic change. Fasting and postprandial 2-hour blood glucose, fasting and postprandial C-peptide, urine routine, renal function and other tests are needed to assess the condition.
2. Lifestyle adjustment: Dietary control of total daily calorie intake, and limit the intake of carbohydrates (that is, staple food) at each meal, may be appropriate to increase the intake of vegetables, should strictly control the intake of edible oils and animal oils, to follow a low-salt, low-fat, low-sugar diet, under the premise of dietary control, appropriate exercise, such as jogging, swimming, and so on.
3. Glucose-lowering drugs: It is recommended to adjust the glucose-lowering program to reasonably control blood glucose, commonly used glucose-lowering drugs such as metformin, dagliflozin, etc., and insulin can be used to lower blood glucose if necessary.
Generally, the target of glycated hemoglobin control is within 7%, which can be appropriately relaxed or tightened according to the patient’s age, comorbidities and other conditions. Glycated hemoglobin of 12.9% is significantly elevated and requires immediate hospitalization to avoid inducing serious complications.
It is recommended that patients with high glycosylated hemoglobin should consult a doctor in time and take appropriate treatment according to the doctor’s advice.
