Is low transaminase a sign of malnutrition?

Low aminotransferases are not necessarily a sign of malnutrition. Generally, low aminotransferases are mainly considered as heavy hepatitis or mild malnutrition, but some normal people may also have low aminotransferases, and it is also necessary to exclude whether there are side effects of medications or exposure to radioactive substances. A single low aminotransferase does not make any diagnosis. It is recommended that the patient can be rechecked periodically, and if the low level persists, some albumin and prealbumin can be checked again, in addition, the patient’s mental status, weight and thickness of subcutaneous fat should be checked. If there is no problem, it is suggested that the patient can have a balanced diet and nutrition, strengthen the exercise appropriately, and wait for the review before making a diagnosis.
