After having a pacemaker installed, you can live your life as normal, but there are precautions to be taken in your life.
The first thing you need to do after having a pacemaker is to go to the hospital regularly to have your pacemaker programmed and checked to see if it is working properly. You should be careful to stay away from strong ionizing radiation, as it may interfere with the pacemaker when you are in an area where there is strong radiation interference, which may affect its normal operation.
The feasibility of MRI is determined on a case-by-case basis. Generally, pacemakers are not capable of performing MRI, but pacemakers with anti-NMR function can be examined with MRI 1.5T or 3.0T depending on the specific model, which can be done by checking the pacemaker follow-up card or consulting with the doctor who inserted the pacemaker. It is important to note that the anti-NMR pacemaker should be temporarily programmed by the doctor to work in anti-NMR mode before the MRI examination.
You should also be careful not to engage in strenuous activities in your daily life, and try to avoid large amplitude and prolonged strenuous activities that may cause problems with the pacemaker leads.
After the installation of the pacemaker normal life activities, such as general physical labor, normal work, life will not be affected.
