Blurred near vision and clear distance vision with myopia glasses is usually caused by presbyopia or over-corrected lenses.
If a myopic patient is over 40 years old, he/she may have symptoms of presbyopia. When wearing myopic glasses, he/she can see clearly at a distance, but when looking at a near place, the focus cannot be accurately focused on the near object due to presbyopia, and it becomes unclear instead. This can be corrected by wearing bifocals, progressive multifocal glasses or near glasses.
A myopic patient is said to be overcorrected if the prescription of the glasses is higher than the myopia of the eye. This can result in clear vision at a distance and unclear vision up close, requiring a new prescription of myopia glasses with the right prescription.
Patients who experience blurring at near and clarity at far after wearing myopia glasses should go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital in a timely manner.
