Glaucoma drug treatment precautions

  1. Patients should not change the medication regimen on their own, such as increasing or decreasing the medication, including the number of times, duration and type of medication, let alone stopping the medication when they feel good. 2.Any changes that occur during the medication period should be reported or recorded to the treating physician in a timely manner and told to the physician at the next visit so that problems can be detected and the program can be adjusted in a timely manner. 3.Regular visits. Follow-up visits are important, including testing of IOP and visual field. Because of long-term drug therapy, some drugs will appear to reduce the effect of IOP, that is, drug resistance phenomenon; or changes in the body’s condition such as cardiovascular disease; or IOP control in the normal range, but the visual field continues to damage, etc., at any time according to changes in the condition to adjust the treatment plan. 4, if it is clear that drug therapy cannot control glaucoma, or the patient can not tolerate drug therapy, then surgery needs to be considered.
