Whether tongue cancer microinvasion is stage I or not should depend on the size of localized extent of tongue cancer, whether there is lymph node metastasis and whether there is distant metastasis. If the range of tongue cancer is ≤2cm, no lymph node metastasis and no distant metastasis, it is stage I.
1. Tongue cancer refers to malignant tumors occurring in the tongue, mainly squamous carcinoma, adenocarcinoma is rare. According to the growth mode, it can be divided into infiltrating type, exophytic type and ulcerated type.
2. The staging of tongue cancer is TNM staging: T refers to the size of primary foci, N refers to whether there is lymph node metastasis, and M refers to whether there is distant metastasis. If the size of primary foci is T≤2cm, the depth of infiltration is ≤2mm, and there is no lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis, then it is called stage I.
3. Surgery is the main treatment for tongue cancer, which can be supplemented by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. If tongue cancer can be detected and treated early, the effect is good and the 5-year survival rate is about 65%, among which, the 5-year survival rate of T1 lesion is more than 90%.
