Broken to the foot swelling in a few days can generally heal

The swelling of a broken foot can be healed in a few days depending on the severity of the injury and whether it is combined with tendon and ligament damage. If the injury is only soft tissue damage and edema, and cold compresses are applied within 24 hours, followed by hot compresses, the foot will recover in 1-2 weeks in most cases. If the broken foot is combined with mild tendon ligament strain, it can gradually recover in about 3-4 weeks after the above treatment. If the broken foot is combined with tendon ligament rupture, or even cause avulsion fracture, the recovery time is relatively long, it may take about 3 months, and some patients also need to undergo surgery. After breaking your foot, you should go to the orthopedic department of the hospital in time to have an X-ray or CT examination to clarify whether the fracture is combined, and if necessary, you may also need to have an MRI examination to understand the damage of tendon ligaments to guide the treatment.
