Ear pain can be caused by otitis externa, boils on the external auditory canal, temporomandibular arthritis and other diseases, which need to go to the hospital in time for further examination to clarify.
1. Otitis externa: Frequent pulling out the ear or scratching the skin of the external auditory canal with a sharp instrument can cause otitis externa due to damage to the external auditory canal, resulting in pain in the ear, accompanied by localized swelling.
2. Boils in the external auditory canal: Lack of personal hygiene can lead to blockage of the hair follicles in the external auditory canal, which can be combined with bacterial infection to cause boils in the external auditory canal. Inflammation caused by infection can cause earache due to the stimulation of the mucosal nerves of the external auditory canal. Physical examination can show that there are small red bumps protruding from the external auditory canal along with redness and swelling around the external auditory canal.
3. Temporomandibular arthritis: due to poor chewing habits lead to aseptic inflammatory reaction of the temporomandibular joints, causing pain symptoms, because the temporomandibular joints are located just in front of the mouth of the external auditory canal, so it may be conscious of the symptoms of pain in the eye of the ear.
There may be other causes of ear pain, so you need to consult an otolaryngologist to determine the cause and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
