What’s the pain in the right liver area?

Right hepatic pain is mainly caused by the hepatic peritoneum outside the liver, and chronic liver disease will cause pain when the hepatic peritoneum is pulled. In addition to chronic liver disease, such as liver cancer, liver abscess can also cause right hepatic pain, or there may be other gallbladder and biliary tract diseases, such as biliary motility dysfunction, cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, gallbladder polyp, and gallbladder carcinoma, which can cause pain in the right hepatic region. Intestinal aspects may also cause pain in the right hepatic region, including carcinoma of the hepatic flexure colon, perforation of duodenal ulcers, and hepatic flexure syndrome, of which irritable bowel syndrome is common. Others include right subphrenic abscess, right lower lung inflammation, right kidney stones, and appendicitis, all of which can lead to right-sided liver pain, so patients need to visit a gastroenterology clinic as soon as possible when they notice right-sided liver pain.
