What vaccinations are required for infants

Infants need to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B, BCG, inactivated polio vaccine, DPT and measles. Depending on the month of the baby, different vaccines are needed. Newborns need to be vaccinated with Hepatitis B and BCG within 24 hours of birth, as well as a second and third dose of Hepatitis B vaccine, which protects against Hepatitis B, and BCG, which protects against Tuberculosis, at full term and at the sixth month. The inactivated polio vaccine requires three doses, at the second, third and fourth months. The DPT vaccine requires one injection at the third, fourth and fifth months. Measles vaccine is given at the eighth month and Brain B vaccine is given at the age of one year. In addition to these there are a number of other vaccines. Infants who develop fever or allergy during vaccination should be seen by a doctor.
