The duration of pain after lithotripsy depends on the discharge of stones, usually around 3-5 days, some can last up to 1 week, depending on the individual. Currently, the main types of lithotripsy are extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and minimally invasive lithotripsy for stone extraction. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is mainly used to crush large stones into small stones, which usually takes 3-5 days for stone removal. A follow-up examination is required about 1 week after the surgery to clarify the stone discharge, and if necessary, the stone can be lithotripsy again. Minimally invasive lithotripsy can be performed under direct vision, and abdominal pain is less common after surgery, mainly due to the influence of the drainage tube, which may cause slight abdominal discomfort. After lithotripsy, it is necessary to adjust the living habits, regular work and rest, drink more water and exercise appropriately under the guidance of the doctor to promote recovery and reduce the chance of stone recurrence.
