What is the cure rate for bladder cancer?

The cure rate of bladder cancer varies according to different pathological stages. The cure of bladder cancer usually takes 5-year survival as the limit, according to the disease progression, bladder cancer is generally divided into stage IV. Usually the earlier the stage, the higher the 5-year survival of bladder cancer, such as stage I and II bladder cancer, clinically, after early detection and active treatment, the 5-year survival is generally above 80%, if it is stage III or IV bladder cancer, the treatment effect is relatively poor, and the general 5-year survival is 10%- 40%. 1.Stage I: Most bladder cancers are easy to be detected at stage I. Clinically, 70%-80% of bladder cancers detected at stage I have better curative effect and the general 5-year survival is above 90%, and the prognosis is better than other cancers; 2.Stage II: Bladder cancers at stage II usually infiltrate into the superficial or deep muscle layer, but at this time, after active treatment, bladder cancers generally have a better 5-year survival than other cancers; 2.Stage II: Bladder cancers at stage II usually infiltrate into the superficial or deep muscle layer. However, after active treatment, the 5-year survival of bladder cancer is generally above 80%; 3.Stage III: At this time, the cancer has already infiltrated the bladder wall and may have invaded the tissues around the bladder, so the 5-year survival of patients will be reduced, generally around 40%; 4.Stage IV: Stage IV is the advanced stage of bladder cancer, and some patients have already metastasized, so clinically, patients can only prolong their survival period through treatment and improve the quality of survival in the later stage. The 5-year survival period of bladder cancer at this time is usually about 10%. For non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, postoperative bladder infusion chemotherapy can be performed after surgery to effectively reduce the chance of cancer recurrence after surgery. For muscle layer invasive bladder cancer, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also required along with targeted surgery. Patients need to cooperate with active treatment in order to better improve the survival rate of cancer.
