Low back soreness is a non-specific group of symptoms that can be caused by many conditions. Some of the more common conditions include: lumbar spondylolisthesis, lumbar instability, discogenic lumbago, lumbar sprain, lumbar strain, low back fasciitis, ankylosing spondylitis, pyelonephritis, and upper urinary tract stones.
Although there are numerous types of disease, lesions of the spine or surrounding soft tissues are the most common cause of lumbar soreness and fall under the category of spinal surgery in orthopaedics. Therefore, consultation in orthopaedics or spinal surgery is recommended.
