Is there a cure for pelvic malignancy?

Pelvic malignant tumors have various treatment modalities, such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, biotargeted therapy, etc., but generally cannot be completely cured. Pelvic malignant tumors include cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, uterine sarcoma, ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, etc. Malignant tumors are easy to recur and metastasize, so it is difficult to cure. Factors affecting the prognosis of malignant tumors mainly include malignant degree of the tumor and the scope of the lesion, pathological stage, histological type, the presence or absence of lymphatic metastasis, etc. In addition, it is also related to the patient’s systemic condition, the presence or absence of other combined medical and surgical diseases, and the choice of treatment plan. Usually, if the tumor is in early stage and gets timely and reasonable treatment, it can achieve the effect of clinical cure. Patients with pelvic malignant tumors should be closely followed up after surgery, generally every 3 months for 2 years after surgery, every 6 months for 3-5 years after surgery, and once a year after 5 years after surgery.
