Gui Zhi Go Shao Yao Plus Ephedra and Fructus Schisandrae is a traditional Chinese medicine formula composed of Gui Zhi, Fructus Schisandrae, Ginger, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Ephedra, Jujubae, and Fructus Schisandrae. It is effective in harmonizing Ying and Wei (making the body’s internal and external qi smooth, each in its own way), invigorating yang qi, warming yang and dispersing cold, transforming watery drinks internally, relieving wind-cold externally, and facilitating the flow of qi.
This formula can be used in treating external wind-cold, heart and kidney yang deficiency, internalized water-drinking (abnormal water-liquid retention in the body), headache and body pain, malignant cold (fear of cold) without sweating, plumpness under the heart (mainly referring to the distension of the stomach), abdominal fullness and intestinal tinnitus, coldness of the hands and feet, and enuresis, and other symptoms.
