The white color of baby’s stool may be caused by indigestion and bile duct obstruction.
1. indigestion: baby’s gastrointestinal function is weak, may produce indigestion, when baby’s indigestion caused by poor absorption of calcium, stool and calcium combination will be white.
2. Bile duct obstruction: if the baby has congenital biliary atresia, bile duct stones and other diseases, causing bile duct obstruction, bilirubin can not be discharged into the bile duct. Therefore, when the bile duct is obstructed, the color of the baby’s stool will become lighter, or even show clay-like stool.
There may be other reasons for the white color of your baby’s stool. Parents are advised to take their babies to the hospital to clarify the cause of the problem so that follow-up treatment can be carried out.
