Herbal Remedies for Constipation

Chinese herbal remedies for constipation include Ma Ren Pill, Lun Bowel Pill and Jichuan Decoction.
1. Hemp Ren Pill is composed of flaxseed, bitter almonds, rhubarb, citrus aurantium, ginger and thick bark, and fried white peony. It is used for constipation caused by intestinal heat and fluid deficiency, characterized by dry stools that are difficult to descend, abdominal distension and discomfort; habitual constipation with the above symptoms. Diet should be light, avoid alcohol and spicy food.
2. Laxative Pill is composed of peach kernel, qiangwu, rhubarb, angelica, and flaxseed. It has the effect of moistening the intestines and relieving constipation. Used for solid heat constipation. Pregnant women should not take. Avoid eating cold, spicy and greasy things during the period of taking the medicine.
3. Jichuan Decoction is used for treating weak kidney yang and insufficient essence and fluid. Symptoms include constipation, long and clear urination, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, dizziness, pale tongue, white moss, and slow pulse.
